Remembering a favorite toy

Since we got new tile and carpet we decided to rearrange the furniture in the living room. (Actually it's only two pieces, but made a huge difference to us.) We decided to move the coffee table to the side of the room and leave the ottoman in the playroom. By doing this we have a ton more room in the living room to play. Noah has really enjoyed having the room and we have played many a ballgames already. The other day Noah and Matt were playing while I was cooking dinner. When I turned around this is what I saw...
Noah was so proud of himself for climbing on daddy. This is now his favorite thing to do.

Future baseball player?

Noah has been doing this for a while, but we finally got it on camera. He usually just uses his bat to hit a ball on a stand he got for his first Christmas. However, he slowly started using the bat as a golf club. Recently he decided to try to hit the ball in the air. Of course, we are not there yet, but the other option is for you to hold the bat while he aims for you to hit the ball. Amazingly he is actually a good pitcher. We are not sure where he got his form, but it is correct. My only guess on the wind up is when we watched the little league world series this past fall on TV. Otherwise, we really don't watch baseball.

Getting ready
The stance
The wind up
Oh, and this is how we watch basketball in our house. We have a very athletic boy! It will be interesting to see what sport he wants to play if any.

It's finally finished

Thursday afternoon closed out the project. The carpet guys were done around 2:00 and we are very pleased with our new additions. Matt and I keep joking that it makes our house look and feel brand new again. The difference is amazing!! Not only is it cleaner, it is more plush, and soft on the feet. I will say that I am a little tired of vacuuming up the little frays, but I guess I need to get use to it since I'm sure I will see a lot in the next few sweeps. The house is also put back together and every room the same as before. It was hectic doing everything at once, but I'm glad we did it and it's over with before baby girl came. As of today I am three days short of 36 weeks and was released of all restrictions so she can come any time now and everything is okay.

Here are the before and after pictures. I know it is really hard to tell a difference, but I guarantee there is a huge difference between the two.

So what do you do with all your stuff when you have to clear everything out? You pile it all into one room and realize how much stuff you can accumulate in several years. WOW!
And last, but not least...Noah had to check out the carpet for us before they got started. Probably should have started with this pictures, but I like to work backwards...

Carpet in the works...

You have to wait till tomorrow for the final pictures but here is a sneak peak.
Actually it's a Noah peak!
What do you do with a new toy in the front yard...check it out of course. Dean came to take Noah home with him so he could actually get a nap today and have some room to play. They spent most of the morning playing the front yard. Once the carpet guys got here Noah found a new toy. As they were stripping the old carpet and pad they would run it outside and move onto the next piece. Noah had to investigate the growing pile and see what it was all about.
Let's see what all this is...
HI!
I don't think I fit in here?!?
I'll try this way.
He was highly entertained by this pile and I'm sure will be sad when he comes home and realizes it is no longer here.

Fireplace...Check

So the last two days have been interesting for us. On Monday the guy came to tile our fireplace. It seemed like it was taking a long time (of course, I have no idea how it's suppose to be done, but it seemed like forever). In the end the final verdict was that the installer put in our fireplace at an angle which is why the measurements were so obscure. Needless to say he ended up just framing it and then coming back the next day to lay the tile and a few hours later to grout. It looks fabulous and we are very pleased. Now we just have to wait to see what it looks like with the carpet. (Look at the last post for before pictures.)

Out with the old...
A picure of just the framing that was done on day one. As I look at this now I laugh knowing how long it took him to get to this point and that it was the only thing done on Monday. (Don't get me wrong the guy is really nice and did a wonderful job.)
The final product!! Of course it looks better in person.

A rainy weekend

So what do you do on a rainy weekend? Well we spent our time getting ready for new tile and carpet. We've been told two different dates for this week. One starting on Monday the other on Wednesday, so we are just waiting to see what day they actually show up. The tile will be going around our fireplace which is all cracked if you look at the close up picture. The carpet will be going in downstairs, the stairs, hallway, and all three bedrooms. We got a really good deal that allowed us to do it all at once. Matt wanted to get any extra painting done before the carpet so we finally got the backdoor painted as well as the holes from our surround sound patched to paint tonight. Matt also replaced all the outlets and covers with some help from Noah. As you can see Matt was very productive while I just sat and watched. Of course, I didn't really have much of a choice. Once finished we'll post pictures this weekend.
Old fireplace with broken tiles
Painted back door
Patched holes ready to paint - There are actually a few others, but I didn't think you would really want to see them all.
Noah helping with the light switches. We tried to keep him away from the outlets so he wouldn't get any ideas. Of course they have covers, but better to be safe than sorry.

Warm weather

So little girl is trying to decided when to make her appearance. Although we still have six weeks left my body is deciding otherwise. My contractions came back, as well as, a few other things that my doctor put me on bed rest for the weekend. What a experience...hope I don't have to go back. Matt did a wonderful job taking care of and entertaining Noah. Here's a few pictures I took when I did get up.

To build or to knock down...

One tried daddy!

When is daddy coming home?

On another note we have had some wonderful warm weather that Noah is really enjoying being outside. I see us spending lots of time there come summer.
Working hard
A make do basket so I didn't have to chase the balls down the driveway anymore. Probably not a good idea right now.
